R.A.Spratt is an author who knows when to be serious, but knows what makes kids laugh.
Her jokes aren’t silly, but will make you laugh out loud. Her two most popular series are The Adventures of Nanny Piggins, which is for the younger ages, and Friday Barnes.
The Adventures of Nanny Piggins series is about a pig who can speak and was an acrobat, who goes to look after some children who have recently lost their mother. Over the series Nanny Piggins takes the three children on hilarious and unrealistic adventures to all the four corners of the earth.
Her other popular series is called Friday Barnes which is a detective series for ages 10 and above. I recommend age 10 and above because there are technical terms that can be challenging, but nothing inappropriate. Friday Barnes is a smart alec, who gets a rich reward to go to Highcrest Academy because she solved a mystery of a missing diamond. She discovers that once she reaches The academy that there is a whole new web of lies that her new friend Melony and her have to uncover. Again, a hilarious novel that is highly recommended.
